Cleveland Habitat builds one house plan with only minor exterior differences (usually window configurations) mandated by the City of Cleveland.  The houses are about 1700 sq ft - two story with four bedrooms (3 up and 1 down), two full baths, kitchen, living-room, diningroom and a full basement. Houses on corner lots have rap-around porches. The homeowner selects the color of the vinyl siding, carpeting and floor tile.  The homeowner pays the cost of materials and purchased labor (for concrete work and roofing).  All other labor is donated by volunteers. Habitat provides a no interest mortgage loan which often results in a monthly payment which is less than the rent the homeowner was paying prior to moving into their new home.
