Remembering to wear sunglasses to protect eyes from the sun's damage & to help us focus in brightness is important. Without them we squint & don't see as clearly. Use "God's Love" kind of sunglasses & see a lot more clearly. Just as the sun won't bother us as much with sunglasses, things won't even annoy us so much when we are looking through the eyes of God's love. We'll focus better & see the souls of those around us too.

* .....love one another, as I have loved you. By this shall all men know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another."  John 13:34

Summer thunderstorms & tornados can brew up very quickly and without warning. When the skies look stormy we should head indoors. If swimming, get out of the water, & get indoors.   When we cannot get to shelter, it is recommended to find a ditch or a low dry area, lie face-down with your hand over your neck. Avoid trees or other tall objects like light poles.  Always try to reduce risks of injury.

* Knowing You hear us, Lord, as we talk with You brings us peace in the midst of any storm.

It has been reported that the majority of recreational injuries in children occur in months of May thru August. Some swimming safety reminders for all ages:  always have adult supervision for children swimming, never swim alone, go "feet first" into water till depth is known, never dunk, push or throw others in water, never eat or chew gum in water, know where rescue equipment is kept, & never run around pool areas. Taking time to teach children water safety is a must.

Brushing your teeth for two minutes twice a day and flossing for two minutes each night can help keep your gums "in the pink" and prevent heart disease. Studies have shown that people with periodontal disease face nearly 2 times the risk of heart attacks than those without the disease.  It is felt it could be from the  bacteria that  enters the bloodstream and/or possibly an inflammatory chemical from the inflamed gums that leads to heart problems. Regardless, brushing and flossing can help according to 9 Secrets to Better Health, AARP 1&2/09.

"Grace to all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with an undying love." Ephesians 6:24
